In recent years, Columbus has witnessed a surge in restaurants embracing vegan cuisine, catering to the growing demand for plant-based options. Here are a few great ones!
Sow Plated
Sow strikes a great balance between health-conscious and delicious plant forward plates. They've gradually expanded their vegan menu to offer options across all sections, even introducing a tasty vegan burger in the past few years. Their cocktails, made with fresh pressed juice, are a treat. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed girls' night out or a casual date. Don't miss the chance to cozy up on their heated patio.
Harvest Pizzeria
Harvest holds a special place in my heart, and with multiple locations, it's easy to see why. Over the past two years, they've expanded their vegan selection. While their delicious vegan pizzas have always been a highlight, they've now added options like the vegan meatball sub and a few more appetizers. Don't forget to check out their lunch special for an unbeatable deal on a pizza and salad combo.
Pierogi Mountain
With a half-vegan menu, proudly owned by a vegan proprietor, Pierogi Mountain's offerings are always impressive. Their menu features vegan pierogis, schnitzel, Kielbasa, cauliflower wings, mac and cheese, Halušky, and tempting desserts. With rotating pierogi flavors, there's always an exciting new dish to sample. Plus, they're not just a restaurant—they double as a lively bar with late-night hours. And the best part? Pierogi Mountain is incredibly budget-friendly.
True Food Kitchen
Located at Easton, True Food has a great selection of vegan options. Many items can also be modified to make vegan friendly. They have a rotating seasonal menu as well, so there is something new to try. They have a great burger, and I really enjoyed their seasonal salad and grain bowls and they have a delicious vegan pizza.
Northstar Cafe
Northstar Cafe has several locations across Columbus, each offering its own unique vibe and ambiance. While each location features a slightly varied menu, if you're craving Pad Thai, the Easton or Westerville spot is your go-to. They also offer delightful vegan options like the Buddha bowl, wraps, and salads. While their weekend brunch might not be the most vegan-friendly at the moment, here's hoping they'll expand their offerings soon.
6-1-Pho
Nestled in Clintonville, 6-1-Pho shines with its fantastic vegan menu. While they excel in pho, they also offer vegan noodles, spring rolls, and a great vegan Bahn Mi. Clear labeling of vegan options simplifies the decision-making process, making dining here both easy and convenient.
Boni at Budd
Located in the heart of the Budd Dairy Food Hall, Boni at Budd offers a fun market stand specializing in Filipino Street Food. Their vegan selection features tasty pancit noodles, flavorful crispy tofu bowls with assorted bases and toppings, and savory tofu skewers. The flavors are absolutely wonderful and offer something new and exciting.
Brew Dog
With numerous locations across Columbus, BrewDog has made great strides in broadening their vegan menu and plant-based offerings. However, it's important to double-check your order to ensure it's vegan and not just vegetarian. From delectable vegan tacos and burgers to pizza, BrewDog provides a trendy hangout spot for all. Plus, don't miss out on their vegan beer selection on tap!
Condado Tacos
Condado is another restaurant that has several locations across the Columbus area, making it a convenient choice when catering to various dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options. They kindly accommodate substitutions to veganize favorites like guacamole and tacos, and their crave bowls are a standout choice. Personally, I highly recommend trying "The Vegan" for a flavorful experience.
